I'm working on a memoir of sorts. My journey, thoughts and adventures all gathered together. Not that many people would read it, except maybe Len Evans if he was alive. He did have several published works and encouraged me to keep writing. I've been featured several different places including: Christian Standard, Christianity Today, Youth Specialties, and quoted in a few books. People envision writing a book as getting $$$ and famous but that's not it. I'm writing more not for celebrity, nor being recognized but more of a therapy of sorts. A look back to look forward. A part of that will be blogging more and including some of the material here in my own source material. So Welcome. There is no Plan B, but God can use you and He will. From the Preacher's Desk: Giving Jesus Away 2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out ... Romans 10:14 says: "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? Recently a four year old boy had commented to me: "You're the guy who gives Jesus away." (For clarity's sake: I give away these mini-Jesus figures away as a reminder that to take Jesus with you and that everyone needs a little Jesus, Of course, some of us need a whole lot of Jesus). How would you like to be known as the one who gives Jesus away? What a honor, responsibility and command. We are all called to be Jesus' hands and feet, part of the body of Christ. We are all suppose to be fulfilling the Great Commission as to go and make disciples. (Matt. 28:16-20) and the greatest commandment to Love the Lord with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind; and to love our neighbor as ourselves. When was the last time you shared Jesus? Three Principles

Paul wrote, "I press on toward the goal, toward the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 3:14 Three Principles that governed Paul's journeys and can apply to us today. They are: Dependence on God Acts 13:1-4 tells us Paul was intentional in his reliance on God. His choices were the result of God's promptings. This dependence also enabled Paul to demonstrate joyful perseverance in his travels. Prison couldn't dampen his praise (Acts 16:25). Even when he had been stoned and left for dead, he "got up and went back into the city" (Acts 14:20).We can also depend on the Lord to empower us during difficult circumstances. No Lone Rangers Paul understood the value of companions and teamwork. In Acts 9, Ananias restored his sight and Barnabas introduced Paul to the other apostles. On all three of his recorded missionary journeys, Paul traveled with at least one companion. E Paul did not journey alone. Journeying with others provides encouragement and accountability. Humility Despite his confidence, Paul had an attitude of humility. He considered himself "the least" of the Lord's people (Ephesians 3:8). Paul was a powerful speaker, but he relied on the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit rather than on persuasive words. We also need humility when relating to others. Live for Christ

Philippians 1:21 "For me to live is Christ, to die is Gain." He died for me, I'll live for Him. Here are some practical ways to do so: 1. **Live for Jesus Every Day**Make it your daily prayer to ask God to help you live for Christ. Whether you're at work, at home, or with friends, ask Jesus to be your reason for everything you do. 2. **Refocus Your Motivations**Take a moment to think about what drives you. Ask God to help you shift your heart so that Jesus becomes your main motivation. 3. **Share the Good News**Look for opportunities to tell others about Jesus. Whether it's inviting someone to church, sharing your testimony, or simply showing kindness, let your life point others to Christ. 4. **Prepare Your Heart for Both Living and Dying**Remember that living for Jesus means being ready to face whatever comes, including death. Pray for courage and trust that, as Paul said, "to die is gain." Live with confidence that Jesus is with you always. 5. **Honor Christ in Your Actions**Think about how you can honor Jesus in your daily life-by being honest, loving others, forgiving, and serving. Small acts of kindness can make a big difference. 6. **Support and Encourage Others**Get involved in supporting others-whether through teaching, giving, or simply being a friend. Help build a community that lives for Christ and encourages one another to stay faithful. 7. **Make a Personal Commitment**Consider making a pledge to live for Jesus: "He died for me, I'll live for Him." Write it down or say it aloud as a reminder of your commitment. Remember, living and dying for Christ is the greatest purpose you can have. Growth is Not a Mystery, It's a choice. Church Bulletin/ newsletter can be donation repellent. Member focused means mission stalled. Tradition is not a strategy. (Habits may be holding you back) Pastor, be the Face. Contacts create Growth. Follow Up or Fade out. No Revival Service. Services need clarity, courage, consistent follow through. Things that will make your day go better 1. Pray 2. Go to bed on time. 3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed. 4. Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health. 5. Delegate tasks to capable others. 6. Simplify and unclutter your life. 7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.) 8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places. 9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together. 10. 10, Take one day at a time. 11. Separate worries from concerns. If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety. If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it. 12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases. 13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc. 14. KM.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble. 15. Do something for the kid in you everyday. 16 . 16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line. 17. Get enough rest. 18. Eat right. 19. Get organized so everything has its place. 20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life. 21. Write down thoughts and inspirations. 22. Every day, find time to be alone. 23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray. 24. 24. Make friends with Godly people. 25 25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand. 26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good "Thank you Jesus." 27. 27.Laugh. 28. 28. Laugh some more! 29. The Power of Example A preacher closed his sermon with an earnest Gospel appeal. Among the many who responded was a woman of wealth and social distinction. She asked per mission to speak a few words to the audience. "I want you to know," she said, "just why I came forward tonight. It was not because of any word spoken by the preach er. I stand here because of the influence of a little woman who "He who best knows the world will love it least." - Balzac sits before me. Her fingers are rough with toil. The hard work of many years has stooped her low. She is just a poor, obscure washerwoman who has served in my home for many years. I have never known her to be impatient, speak an unkind word, or do a dishonorable deed. I know of countless little acts of unselfish love that adorn her life. Shame faced, let me say that I have openly sneered at her faith, and laughed at her fidelity to God. Yet, when my little girl was taken away, it was this woman who caused me to look beyond the grave and shed my first tears of hope. The sweet magnetism of her life has led me to Christ. I covet the thing that has made her life so beautiful." At the request of the preacher, the little woman was led forward, her eyes streaming with glad tears, and such a shining face as one seldom sees on this earth. "Let me introduce you," said the preacher, "to the real preacher of the evening," and the audience arose in silent, though not tearless, respect. Oh, ye obscure toilers of the world, ye patient "doers of the Word," think not that no one sees.
